Before You Contact a Rescue
Most shelters and rescues are operating at or near capacity, and many are caring for more animals than their space, foster homes, and budgets were designed to handle. Before reaching out, think about what you may be able to contribute to the solution instead of simply asking an organization to take over the problem.
If you can foster the cat, help with transportation, contribute toward veterinary care or supplies, provide food, or keep the cat safely contained while placement is arranged, be sure to say so. The more support you can offer, the more options a rescue may have and the better the chances that they can help.
